Streetwise Shoppers Put An End To Rash Spending

23 May 2009
As the effects of the recession kicks in, streetwise shoppers are getting smarter, saving an average of two grand a year by shopping around.

According to a recent survey by Abbey, one in three people now checks the price of an item in at least five shops before making a purchase.

Rash spending behaviour seems to be disappearing as more than two thirds of the people surveyed admitted they will delay making a purchase until the item has gone on sale.

Almost one in three people are prepared to spend their weekends scouring boot fairs to pick-up a bargain.
